Current job: Director of Curriculum Support (SENCo) in a big secondary school
Previous job: Maths teacher in a secondary school
Education: BEd (Hons) secondary, a degree and an MA (Ed) in Special and Inclusive Education (OU) – currently working towards a professional doctorate in inclusive education.
Sports: Captain of a local cricket team – we play in Division One and, for a small village, compete at a high standard. I also enjoy rugby and am a passionate Welsh rugby fan!
Favourite films: Star Wars; any Tarantino film – Kill Bill etc. I also like psychological stuff and I would say one of my faves is a film called INSTINCT starring Anthony Hopkins…watch it and see for yourself!
Favourite books: I mainly read for academic work. The best recently is Into the Silent Land by Paul Broks, again a work-related title but a compelling read. I also enjoy cricket books.
Favourite music: I enjoy a wide range of music – I even listen to Radio 1 and Chris Moyles in the morning – and also enjoy classical stuff, particularly Handel's Messiah, one of the first pieces I learnt to play!
Favourite foods: I love a good piece of steak with a nice heavy red – El Bombero (15%) is my fave. It compliments a nice piece of beef really well. Again, try it and see...
Pet hates: Well where to start. People leaving chairs 'out' after sitting on them at my conference table! Rudeness.
Desert island luxury: A bottle of Hine vintage cognac and some nice Cuban cigars! Oh and a nice hammock to lie in and enjoy them. Or alternatively an endless supply of draft Guinness. I would never tire of that!
