** Westminster Secondary School - New Speech & language Unit!
** Teacher in Charge post!
** Full time Permanent post - Easter start
** Improving school - 'Outstanding leadership & management'
** MPS + TLR 2c

This is an exciting opportunity for a determined, energetic and enterprising qualified teacher within a new Speech, Language and Communication needs resource unit. Experience and ability to lead a newly formed team on Speech & Language staff would be an advantage as the post will see you as 'Lead Teacher'.

You will have experience of working with language disordered pupils and have the applicable specialist qualifications relevant to working with SLCN pupils including UK QTS in order to be considered for this position.

Experience in a management position would be highly desirable; however candidates that are seeking progression in this field are urged to apply. You need to show a strong personality and 'team player' attitude alongside solid experience within a similar SLCN unit.

The institution is based in a central location allowing easy accessibility from all boroughs. This Secondary school provides an educational base for pupils 11-19yrs with its latest OFSTED (December 2010) highlighted the school as; "having made good progress in raising standards, leadership and management is outstanding and the academy has outstanding capacity for improvement". Pupils can be challenging, like any inner London school, but a strong community feel and supportive colleagues have improved behaviour greatly.

With recent refurbishment; the school has top of the range facilities as it looks to the future with this new state of the art Speech, Language and Communication unit in the latter planning stages.

You will be responsible for raising expectations and aspirations of students with such difficulties. In order to do so you will look to develop the curriculum, train and work with teachers and TA's and look to raise and maintain standards within the unit.

With an Easter start, please get your CV and cover letter over to me no later than February 8th with short listing and interviews being held shortly. A valid enhanced CRB issued with the last 12 months is desirable.
