** Surrey based Primary school - SEN centre
** Teacher in Charge post - Visually Impaired pupils
** Permanent post - Easter or September start (2010)
** MPS (UPS + 1-2 SEN +TLR 2:1) - dependent on experience

Are you a committed and determined teacher of SEN with a specific interest in pupils with Visual Impairment?

My client school is a Surrey based Primary school with a separate resource base specifically catering for visually impaired pupils. The unit has taken on more children this academic year and are seeking to employ an experienced and qualified teacher, to act as 'Teacher in charge' beginning at either Easter or September 2010.

You should possess UK QTS and ideally have a solid track record within SEN and specifically working closely with visually impaired primary aged pupils. This role requires an individual who possess excellent and empathetic management skills in order to lead and a small team of 5 teaching and support staff.

This role requires a committed, organised and dedicated teacher of special needs and VI or be willing to undergo full training. Current experience will see you hit the ground running and maintain the high standards that have been achieved and highlighted in the latest OFSTED. You will be responsible for the entire unit and its staff, and therefore a member of the SLT. An innovative and professional focus would certainly suit this role!

Ideally you will have a solid background within SEN, having experience in working with the diverse needs of VI pupils. You will be expected to take a hands on role working closely with other teachers, parents, external agencies and the main school. The children are in mainstream classes and follow the same curriculum as their peers, with appropriate adaptation available depending on individual needs. Excellent resources are readily available to enhance the learning of a child using Braille or large print materials.

The school request CV's in the first instance, with interviews being conducted in February 2010. Please email me your full up to date CV immediately.
