Catholic Special School Deputy Headteacher

** Deputy Headteacher – Special Needs School – Guildford ** Permanent Position – September 2009 start!

** Practising Catholic Required!

Are you an outstanding leader who can take over from a highly successful Deputy and continue the schools excellent reputation?

Are you an experienced Special Deputy Headteacher looking to work in an inclusive caring community, based on Christian values?

This school is a mixed non maintained Special School located in Surrey close to Guildford. Pupils are aged between 7 – 19yrs. The school aims to meet the needs of learners with a wide range of learning difficulties.

These may be moderate, severe or complex difficulties and are frequently accompanied by Autistic Spectrum disorders and speech and language difficulties. Some of the learners also experience resultant emotional or social difficulties.

This school focuses on being a centre of excellence where education, care and therapies are personalised to meet the varied needs of children and young people with complex learning and behavioral difficulties.

In order to apply you must be a practicing Catholic, with a view to develop your career in a Deputy Headteacher role or current hold such a position. Due to the nature of the school SEN experience would be an advantage, however not necessary. The Headteacher has specified that they will happily look at candidates who are willing and passionate about learning and developing their knowledge of SEN (Special Educational Needs).

This post will begin in the Autumn Term with interviews being held before the beginning of the term. Due to the lateness of this vacancy the school can appreciate a September 1st start may not be possible, and so are flexible on this.
