Privacy Statement
At Teaching Expertise we are committed to protecting your privacy. We use the information we collect about you to process orders and to provide you with information regarding other products that you may find useful. Please read on for more details about our privacy policy.
Who is responsible for the personal information collected on the TEx website?
Smale Consulting Ltd. (“Teaching Expertise”) controls the personal data collected on this site.
What information do we collect and how do we use it?
When you place an order, we need to know your name, e-mail address and delivery address. This allows us to process and fulfil your orders and to notify you of the status of your order. We also require a contact telephone number, which enables us to contact you urgently if there is a problem with your order or the processing of your payment. For some international deliveries this number may be given to our couriers.
When you submit a customer review, we also ask for your e-mail address, although you can choose not to have your e-mail address displayed with your review. When you enter a contest or other promotional feature, we will also need your name, address and e-mail address so we can administer the contest and notify winners.
One of the goals of the Teaching Expertise site is to provide you with an added value service. For example, we can keep you informed of any new information e.g. new conferences or books, or special promotions or offers published on the site. We may monitor customer traffic patterns and site usage to help us develop the design and layout of the site. We may also use the information we collect to occasionally notify you about important functionality changes to the web site and new Teaching Expertise services we think you’ll find valuable.
If you would rather not receive this information, you may opt out by selecting the option on the subscriber page. For ease of administration and to avoid us sending you the same multiple copies of the same message, it would help if you could limit your account to only a single e-mail address.
We do not send random marketing emails to personal email addresses (spam).
How does TEx protect customer information?
We follow strict security procedures in the storage and disclosure of information, which you have given us, to prevent unauthorised access. Our security procedures mean that we may occasionally request proof of identity before we are able to disclose sensitive information to you.
What about “cookies”?
Cookies are small pieces of information that are stored by your browser on your computer’s hard drive. Our cookies do not contain any personally identifying information; most web browsers automatically accept them. If you wish, you can configure your web browser to block all cookies; this will not prevent you from using the features on the TEx site.
Will TEx disclose the information it collects to outside parties?
Smale Consulting Ltd (“Teaching Expertise”) complies with the Data Protection Laws in the UK. TEx does not sell or rent your personal information to others. We may choose to do so in the future with trustworthy third parties, but you can tell us not to by sending an e-mail message to [email protected]. (If you use more than one e-mail address to shop with us, send this message from each e-mail account you use.) Also, TEx may provide aggregate statistics about our customers, sales, traffic patterns and related site information to reputable third-party vendors, but these statistics will include no personally identifying information. We employ other companies and individuals to perform functions on our behalf. Examples include fulfilling orders, delivering packages, sending postal mail and e-mails, removing repetitive information from customer lists, analysing data, providing marketing assistance, and providing customer services. Such companies and individuals will have access to personal information needed to perform these functions, but may not use it for any other purposes and are required to process the data in accordance with the UK’s Data Protection legislation. You can access the UK’s Data Protection legislation at the following link http://www.dataprotection.gov.uk/.
