Engaging Boys in Education – London

May 27, 2009 //  by Admin

We are delighted to welcome Sue Hackman, Chief Adviser on School Standards at the DCSF. Sue will be sharing her knowledge and experience on how to overcome the barriers to boys’ achievement and offering practical advice for narrowing the gap in your school. Raising boys’ achievement will no longer be something on your to do list, instead you will see the gender gap closing in front of your eyes.

You can also attend interactive seminar sessions on implementing peer mentoring systems in your school, coordinating teaching staff to raise boys’ achievement across the curriculum and raising boys’ self esteem and confidence in their learning abilities.

A range of experts, consultants and leading practitioners will show you how to:

> Recognise the barriers to boys’ achievement and gain practical advice to overcome them > Learn new methods for involving teaching staff in raising boys’ achievement across the curriculum > Take away practical strategies for tackling peer pressure and encouraging pupils to take a more active interest in their studies

> Implement a mentoring scheme to raise boys’ achievement in your school
