English Teacher

January 6, 2011 //  by Admin

** English Teacher – KS3/4 ** High achieving East London Secondary School ** Immediate start – 2 terms initially

** Specialist English & Humanities College

Are you a qualified English teacher who’d be interested in an immediate start teaching English in a reputable and successful school based in East London? Due to a long term sickness an opening is available to join a large and expanding English faculty that consists of 9 teachers. You will be teaching GCSE English to a wide range of abilities so you must be an organised and detailed planner who can confidently engage students ranging from SEN to OXBRIDGE. The school has over 900 students on roll including 250 in a successful and vibrant 6th form. The students hail from a large range of backgrounds, with a mixture of cultures and experiences which creates a colourful and exciting atmosphere which is a challenge but also a pleasure to teach in. Last year the school achieved a 67% A*-C GCSE average pass rate across all subjects and English itself had a 72% pass rate and also produced excellent BTEC grades in its first year of being delivered. You will be joining a supportive and friendly faculty that always promotes best practice including sharing of resources, pooling of ideas and encourages a learning environment for students and staff. The team is experienced and includes an AST that you can work with and learn from during your time. The school is looking to appoint an individual with ambition, dedication and commitment and there may be permanent opportunities for September 2011 if you prove to be what they are looking for. The school is located conveniently from Central London, via tube or overland British rail.
