Enrichment activity (secondary science): Forensics and crime

This day-long science enrichment activity will help your students gain a greater understanding on the work of a forensic scientist and a scenes of crime officer (SOCO)

This activity will help enrich your gifted and talented students in the following areas:

  • applied science
  • chemical detection
  • biology
  • chemistry

Students will gain insight into the work of both a forensic scientist and a scenes of crime officer (SOCO). They are encouraged to actively think about the role of finger printing, fibres, hair samples, blood etc. in identifying suspects of a crime. 

Students will have to put their scientific caps on to keep up with this exciting activity!
