** HOD Science – Harlow ** Permanent post from January 2011 ** “Outstanding School” – OFSTED 2009 ** Fantastic opportunity for progression Are you a qualified and current HOD Science or an outstanding and experienced HOD Science or 2IC who’s ready for the step up to lead a thriving department from January 2011? This specialist training school is looking to recruit a 1st class teacher of Biology who will lead the subject and teach across the age and ability range covering SEN, EAL and OXBRIDGE. As the HOD you will be charged with raising the profile of teaching and learning within the department through sharing best practice and continual liaising and supporting of the team. You will be responsible for teaching General Science for 40% and Biology AS and A2 for 60% of your timetable. You must have experience and qualifications to teach AS and A2 Biology. The school boasts the latest in technologies, facilities and resources including interactive whiteboards (smart) in every classroom, online resources and e-learning and even has two specialist ICT suites for the Mathematics and Science faculty. The school is a state of the art inclusive comprehensive which also boasts specialist status for Technology and is a designated Training School. There are currently almost 1,400 students at the school and with over 60 languages spoken this is a very diverse and multi-ethnic environment. The school has a firm commitment to every child matters and there is an extensive teaching assistant and learning support assistant network co-ordinated by the large SEN department.
