Learning & Teaching

June 15, 2009 //  by Admin

Children learn better when they are excited and engaged. Visual images, video footage, animations and sound bites all stimulate the mind and senses, making children vigilant participants in the learning process. This is the central idea behind Learning & Teaching.

Learning & Teaching provides a library of multimedia resources to help you dramatise and orchestrate learning in your classroom. By adapting and re-using the materials to suit your teaching style, you can shape the curriculum and make it your own.

Make lessons come alive, Learning & Teaching offers innovative teaching strategies for cross-curricular projects – such as the Gunpowder Plot, The Human Body, Minibeasts and The Vikings.

It's published as a magazine with access to downloadable support information and resources, which integrate to offer you a range of information in print, audio and visual formats, including original illustrations, photographs, animations, sound bites, video footage and guided Internet Discovery Trails.

Each issue is built around a 28-page Creative Teaching section that details cross-curricular mini project plans for literacy, numeracy, science, ICT and the arts. You will receive topical lead articles, step-by-step ICT tutorials to help create visually dynamic lessons, plus case studies of creative teaching in action. As each issue is published, the magazines and downloadable resources build into a valuable library of creative resources for your Primary school.

Learning & Teaching will enable you to:

  • Teach cross-curriculum projects in an organised, but visually exciting and imaginative way
  • Allow you to store, issue by issue, multimedia resources you can adapt and re-use
  • Link your teaching strategies and project lessons to National Curriculum objectives
  • Concentrate on differentiating information to help children of all abilities
  • Use ICT more effectively with our Technology Tutorials
  • Learn from the success of other teachers.
