Positive Partnerships with Parents (Birmingham) – Birmingham

May 3, 2009 //  by Admin

You will have the opportunity to meet and question leading practitioners who have faced the pitfalls of working with parents and turned parental involvement into parental engagement. You will learn from teachers who have successfully implemented family learning programmes,  home-school liaison services and parent councils. In addition we are delighted to welcome Professor Charles Desforges who is celebrated the world over for his work on the impact of positive partnerships with parents. Amongst many publications, he has authored a research review conducted for the DfES entitled ‘The impact

of parental involvement on pupil achievement’.

You will also hear from the DCSF outlining their latest plans for parental engagement as stated in The Children’s Plan: One Year on.

Other practical inspirational and interactive sessions at this conference include: • Engaging fathers in their children’s education • Working with parents of SEN students • Utilising technology to communicate with parents

• Working with parents to gather evidence for your SEF

Who should attend: • Head Teachers • Deputy Head Teachers • Pastoral Leaders • National Parent Partnership Network Members • Extended School and Family Learning Co-ordinators

• Parent Partnership Officers

Click here to book your place now. PLUS: All delegates will be able to download exclusive speaker presentations to take back to school and use in training.
