This international school opened in 2002 in Abu Dhabi having just 150 students, it now has 3 campuses: 2 in Abu Dhabi and 1 in Al Ain with approximately 400 students in total.
Each site caters for students aged 3-18. The school is now opening a Boys and Girls Secondary schools in September 09 in Al Ain and another boy’s campus in Abu Dhabi in 2010 as well as an equestrian.
The school serves 95% Emirati students; however there are more western students entering. The school is funded by the Ministry of Education and education is separate of boys and girls. The school will be implementing the IB system in September 2010 and has applied for approval from the IBO.
The school year is similar to the UK starting September and ending late June with holidays around Christmas and Easter plus 2 Eid Breaks
The school is looking for 2 experienced Primary Arabic Teachers for the Primary School to start September 2009.
Teachers applying for the post should have the following: ** M.Ed, B.Ed or a Bachelors Degree with a teacher training qualification ** At least 2 years experience ** Be a native speaker of English ** Be Western Trained (UK, Australia, USA, Canada or SA)
** Must be FEMALE!
Salary package is as follows: ** A TAX FREE salary of up to 11,500 AED per month based on experience (www.xe.com), extra 500 AED for teacher holding a Masters Degree ** Free air conditioned accommodation – 1 bed [single] or 2-bed [couple + children] with basic furnishings and major appliances provided ** Utilities ** Free transport to/from school ** Free healthcare insurance ** Free annual return air fares including initial flight. ** Baggage Allowance of up to $500
** Cost of living roughly comparable to UK. Cheap taxis – approx 11 Dhs (GBP 2) across the city. Full petrol tank for large 4×4 = GBP 20. Basic expenditure is food, entertainment.
