A high achieving Primary school are seeking a qualified primary teacher with experience working with special needs. You will be required to work in two different schools, based mainly within the learning support unit (LSU). You will be expected to work with children with challenging behaviour and learning difficulties (SpLD), so must be have strong classroom management and show good initiative.
Located in South London in zone 3, the school is not far from tube and over ground stations. You will ideally require QTS, however an overseas trained teacher would be considered even without QTS. You must however have experience. NQT’s will not be considered.
You will be working on a 1:1 and small group basis. The ability to build relationships and manage behaviour is very important in the role. You will spend 3 days per week within the LSU on the main school site, working down the road at another associated primary school for the other 2 days.
The post begins immediately, so a current CRB is required. Without this, unfortunately you cannot start! The Head teacher is keen to meet and interview you asap, with the potential of a trial day, in order to see how you interact with the pupils and staff. The current team are tight knit and have a good work ethic. You will be required to work full time, 5 days per week at least for 1 term, with a view to extending until the end of the year. This is due to a long term sickness.
