A fantastic position within a satisfactory primary school in the London borough of Merton has arisen. Have you had experience in teaching the EYFS curriculum? Could you deliver this to the highest standard for two terms whilst the current post holder is on maternity leave?
The position is to cover a maternity leave within the school, starting in January 2011 and will finish at the end of the summer term. The head teacher has also suggested that if the correct candidate is found, there is the possibility of a permanent contract from September 2011.
You will be responsible for teaching a class of around 30 reception children, planning alongside the experienced parallel foundation teacher to give the best possible education to a very diverse range of children. The relationships and atmosphere within the school and especially the foundation stage are very strong. One parent has said, ‘My child doesn’t like the weekends because she doesn’t go to Nursery’.
The school has been described as a fantastic place to both teach and learn and the school’s ethos is to give children the skills and tools to succeed. The school’s last OFSTED inspection deemed it as satisfactory with good features. A result that the SMT are keen to improve on. The staffing team are committed to improving the school across the board and have a clear vision of where it is going.
