Looking to develop your current experience within a mainstream Primary school?
A client primary school in the South London borough of Merton is looking for a bright and adaptable Teaching Assistant to work across all key stage classes. This will be a full time role and be perfect experience ahead of a potential PGCE or GTP application. Previous experience; whether voluntary or paid is an advantage and must be clearly highlighted and detailed on your CV.
You will be working with the low achieving children in both literacy and numeracy for at least 75% of the week, which requires a candidate with the patience and commitment to aid these children. The school has up to 70% EAL (English as an Additional Language) pupils across all years, so any additional languages or EAL experience would be beneficial.
Recent experience is desirable but the personality and drive will be the key driver for the Head. You will have the added advantage of working alongside an already established teaching assistant allowing you to hit the ground running and make an immediate impact. The school aim to be inclusive with all pupils, which will see you working 1:1 and in small groups with SEN pupils. Statements include EBD, ASD and ADHD. Knowledge and experience with such pupils would be a huge advantage and such candidates would be preferred!
The children are all willing and there are a few behavioural problems in the class so it will be a rewarding position for the right candidate. Additional experiences and skills in music, sport or relevant summer camps are an advantage.
With a September start, a current CRB is not necessary, as we would apply for one ahead of starting in September. Email your full up to date CV asap, with interviews being held in the Easter holidays.
