** Earn up to GBP 140 – depending on experience
This Hounslow based Pupil Referral Unit is seeking an experienced SEN teacher to teach English up to GCSE from the 20th April progressing on to the end of the academic year covering a position recently available through promotion.
This will be a full time role and has the potential to continue through September as a permanent role if you make the right impression.
You will be responsible for teaching, preparation and marking coursework for exams. You will be required to teach within a specialist unit in the PRU that deals with a wide variety of individuals including special, medical referrals and youth offenders.
Students are taught in 2 hour sessions with 18 students currently receiving 10 hours of tuition a week over literacy and numeracy. The aim is to reintegrate these pupils back into mainstream!
This post requires a focused and energetic individual to contribute towards a positive learning culture that promotes success and personal well being for both students and staff.
You should have at least 2 years teaching experience within an SEN environment with specific attention to behaviour difficulties. QTS is essential as well as experience and qualifications relating to this English SEN teacher role with a focus on Year 10 and 11 pupils!
With such a position the school do require you to have a clear understanding of the issues relating to EBD, knowledge and understanding of recent legislation in relation to SEN and the National Curriculum.
