This co-ed multicultural comprehensive secondary school requires an experienced SEN teacher to join this growing SEN division from either October half term or January 2010. The school provides education for 11-18 year olds and is seeking a strong SEN teacher who particularly has the experience of teaching students with moderate to severe learning difficulties cross curricular. Teaching will be housed in a new state-of-the-art provision on the same site as of January 2010.
You will have an in-depth understanding of the teaching and learning approaches needed for the schools SEN learners, good knowledge of the 11-16 agenda and a proven record in driving and raising performance in this type of learning environment. With a special or secondary background, you'll work as a class teacher for students aged 11-16 years. You will be skilled at planning and teaching to meet a range of individual pupil needs with creativity and energy needed for this role, this will be matched with high expectations and good organisation and communication skills. In return, support is available to further develop teachers keen to branch out into the field of moderate and severe learning difficulties.
