The school are seeking a well qualified teacher with a real interest in the provision of quality teaching, to join the Learning Support Faculty. You must be patient, dynamic, and confident with a good sense of humour.
The successful candidate will have QTS or be an overseas trained teacher who is within the time period to acquire QTS.
The role will involve additional tasks such as the assessment of pupils for access arrangements and liaison with the examinations office and appropriate support staff as well as being a joint form tutor.
The school has over 2000 students with 557 students in the Sixth Form. Although heavily oversubscribed both in Year 7 and Year 12 you will be required to work with small classes of about 10 – 12 pupils as well as on a 1:1 basis across Key stage 3 and 4 who have dyslexia or dyspraxia.
Standards are above average as a result of good and sometimes outstanding teaching (OFSTED 2003) There are superb ICT facilities, including electronic whiteboards in many classrooms
With the school achieving excellent examination results and an exceptional extra-curricular provision, including over 100 trips a year, with 20 abroad.
