So that you are under no illusions; this will be a challenging teaching post, but will certainly be the most satisfying! Experience in such an environment is essential.
This school site is one of four schools within the group that cater for children with special needs, specifically with Autism and severe learning difficulties. This school is a lovely well resourced site that looks to offer an excellent education to all pupils as well as a comfortable and dynamic environment for staff.
The school is in a period of growth with the school will be looking to expand from around 25 to 54 pupils over the next 2 years. This means an expansion of the current team, with the SLT keen on recruiting a teacher focused on a career within the group and in such an environment.

The role will suit a calm and patient individual with experience within special needs. ASD experience along with PECS and makaton would be a huge advantage with full support and training will being given.
A passion for SEN and working with less able pupils along with the right temperament and personality is a main focus for the successful candidate. Extensive and on-going training and support of all staff is at the core of the success of the school. You will also be supported and encouraged to further develop your skills.
