The Cross-Curriculum

August 25, 2009 //  by Admin

The Cross-Curriculum, edited by Kit Field, is designed to support subject leaders in the organisation of learning in relation to cross-curricular matters. By focusing on cross-curricular matters, subject leaders are likely to improve the performance of pupils in their own subject area, as well as contribute to the broad education of the learner.

The Cross-Curriculum acknowledges that each subject leader has a unique contribution to make, and a collaborative role in providing for a single, broad and relevant curriculum. The title will support you and enable you to: encourage and facilitate discussion; implement systems and procedures; and enable the enactment of ideas. In each section, you will find:

  • Case studies to exemplify issues from a range of perspectives – from subject leaders and departmental teachers.
  • Direct reflection activities – designed to bring the reader back to the real world, to ground ideas discussed in a practical context, and shape plans for future actions.
