Student safety is the number one priority of all schools. One safety issue that gains a lot of attention is bullying among students. Bullying is a serious safety concern that must be addressed. Therefore, all schools in the United States are required to implement bullying prevention policies.

To help combat bullying, teachers must address and implement anti-bullying educational ideas into their daily classroom interactions with students. It is our intent that the 20 ideas provided in this article will assist educators as they do their best to eliminate bullying among their students.

1. Bullying Lesson Using Apples

This is a terrific bullying prevention lesson for elementary school students that uses apples to focus on how the effects of bullying can cause irreparable damage. Talking to children about bullying is crucial. Students will receive a visual that shows the damage that takes place internally through unkind words.

As a parent, your child's safety is your number one priority. Therefore, it is crucial that you take an active role and recognize the warning signs of bullying. This bullying fact sheet is an excellent tool that will help you understand your child's behavior and determine if it is normal or concerning.

3. Chain of Consequences: Writing to Prevent Bullying

To promote positive behaviors, use school activities such as this classroom activity. Hold a discussion about various words that express feelings. Students will then write about a bullying incident in which they were called names. Next, create a classroom display labeled “Name Calling Leads to a Chain of Consequences."

End classroom bullying by creating an anti-bullying campaign in your classroom. This lesson plan is great for middle school students and includes videos and songs that are terrific for creating positive behavior among students.

7. Give Me a Hand!

Advocate against bullying and challenge students to stand up to it with this anti-bullying display. Students will use the yellow hands to write down things they did to prevent bullying. They will tape the yellow hand onto the large green hand to exemplify giving a high-five to prevent bullying! This is a great activity for elementary students.

8. Bully Box

Promote a positive climate by adding a Bully Box on the school grounds. Students are encouraged to anonymously put a note in the Bully Box to explain a bully situation they have witnessed or experienced. The guidance counselor will receive the messages for intervention. If someone is a victim of bullying, this provides a safe sharing place.

9. Stick it to Bullies

For this anti-bullying lesson, teach students about tolerance. Then, have them create their own bumper stickers that contain anti-bullying slogans. Create a display of these slogans to remind everyone to stand up against bullying in schools.

This is a wonderful activity to foster a positive school climate. Take a picture of each of your students and have your students give every student a compliment and write it down. Remind your students of the importance of complimenting others.
