Learning the alphabet can feel overwhelming for kids when we introduce too many letters at once. A good strategy is to dedicate one week to every letter so students are exposed to each enough times for them to understand it in multiple contexts and pronunciations. 1. "W" is for a Water Race!

This outdoor, hands-on letter "W" activity is great for a sunny day. Get some foam letters and put them into a bucket of water. A little ways away, have another bucket with the letter "W" on it. Kids must find the "W" foam letter, run, and throw it into the "W" bucket.

2. Geoboard Letter Worksheets

Geoboards are a good resource to use at home or in a small classroom. Place the 2 sets of alphabet letters randomly on the board, and give your preschooler some rubber bands. They must match the lowercase letter to the uppercase letter by stretching the band between the letters.

3. Squishy Sensory Watermelon

This watermelon craft is so simple and your kids will love it! Grab a slice of watermelon without the rind and put it in a plastic sealed baggie. Give it to your students for them to squish, push around, and make it into a pink watery mess.
