15 Perfect Presidents’ Day Activities

Celebrate Presidents' Day, which is a national holiday, and encourage your children to learn about its history! Honor George Washington and Abraham Lincoln but also provide your children with opportunities to learn about and celebrate the sacrifices and accomplishments of all of the nation's presidents! Numerous resources are available online to assist you as you plan the perfect Presidents' Day activities for your children. However, we have developed a list of 15 perfect Presidents' Day activities that will make things much easier for you!

1. Presidential Shoes

This is one of the most clever activities, and elementary-age students will love this fun idea! This activity allows children to compare their shoe sizes to those of former presidents. Laminate an anchor chart like the one pictured and have kids stand on it and compare their shoe sizes to the ones on the anchor chart.

2. If I Were President

Take a photo of each child, print them, add the neckpiece, a hat, and a bow tie! Use cotton for George Washington-type hair and a top hat for an Abraham Lincoln look. Then, each child will write about what kinds of things they would choose to do if they were elected as president. This is such a cute craft!

3. Abe Lincoln's Log Cabin

This is one of the cutest cabin crafts, and it is one of the most fun and educational crafts for kids! Celebrate the 16th President with this Abraham Lincoln craft that allows kids to practice counting by tens to 100, which is an important learning standard. It also provides a review of triangles and rectangles.

4. Who Am I?

This fun craft is an excellent way to provide a quick review in the classroom. The teacher will have a list of clues and read one aloud at a time for the students. When the students know which coin or president is being described, they will hold up the correct popsicle stick.

5. George Washington Cherry Tree Craft

This is a cool craft for Presidents Day! Tell your children the famous story about George Washington chopping down the cherry tree. This is a wonderful way to review history for kids. After sharing the story, allow your children to create their own cherry tree masterpieces.

Presidents' Day is a fun holiday! Celebrate it with these cute edible crafts. Create a birthday bash in celebration of Abraham Lincoln and George Washington and serve these cute cookies decorated by your children. Plan a great day with activities, food, and crafts!
